Nathaniel William's Birth

May 25, 2009, Memorial Day, and the day before I was scheduled to be induced Nathaniel William Spellman was born. We had a wonderful birth experience this time around. It's amazing how much nicer Huntsville Hospital and their staff was compared to Florence Hospital were Noah was born. This time I had two wonderful nurses and an awesome female doctor! We went into the hospital around 11a.m. and Nate was born that night at 8:35p.m. When I had Noah everything went smoothly until we got to the pushing part. That was the hardest thing ever! It took me an hour and 15 minutes to get Noah out. So I was nervous about that happening again. But this time I tried hard to relax, stay focused and pray! It must have worked because Nathaniel was born after only 13 minutes of hard pushing! My doctor this time did a great job of coaching me so I think that really made a difference. Little Nate gave us a scare the first few minutes he was alive. Apparently he had swallowed a bunch of fluid right before he delivered and was having trouble breathing. Those few short moments were one of the scariest times of our lives! They called in special nurses from the newborn intensive care unit. Within a few minutes they had him back to breathing well on his own. We were so happy! Nate weighed in at 7 lbs. 13oz, blue eyes, and light brown hair. We are so glad to have him apart of our family! Noah loves him very much. :-)

Our new puppy

Back in April we did something crazy before having baby #2! We adopted a Golden Retriever pup. I (Julie) had always wanted to own a Golden. Our timing was a little off but oh well. It took us a week to decide on a name but finally choose Cooper. He's a great dog! Here are some pictures I never got posted.

Inspired...Updates

So I've been inspired by my sis in law(thanks Kila!) to update our family blog! I know it's been sooo long. Where has the time gone? So much has happened in the last six months. I have been meaning to update but keep putting it off due to the amount of time and effort it takes to load pictures. Since the Holidays are rapidly approaching I decided now is a great time to update the blog! We have done so many cool family things since our new little guy was born it would take forever to post them all. So I'll try to add a few here and there to get us caught up to present. Thanks for reading!! Love, Julie

Spoiled Rockin Kidz Salon & Spa

So a new haircut place opened in town and of course we had to try it out! It is geared just for kids. Each child gets to pick which chair they want to sit in for their cut. The chairs for the toddlers are a train, an airplane, and a pink mini cooper. Of course Noah picked the train! Each chair has a flat screen TV for the kids to watch while getting their hair done. They have a runway, dressing rooms and manicure/pedicure bar with a makeup station for little girls! It would truly be a little girls delight. After the haircut everyone gets a sucker and the boys get a "special" tattoo. Noah was a very good boy and seemed to enjoy the experience. I'm not sure we'd ever take him back at $17.95 a cut! Maybe if he ever has a little sister... :-)

A Little Snow

We woke up one Sunday morning to find snow! There wasn't much but enough to play with. Noah and Daddy got out and made snow balls!

Noah's 2nd Birthday Party

Here are some birthday party pics. Sorry I posted these so late! Noah had a lot of fun and was glad to see everyone! We did the "Construction Trucks" theme. He loved it! His favorite toys right now are trucks!
